Lunch & Learn on upcoming EU sustainability regulations together with Sustaina Company
On the 6th of November, we had the pleasure of hosting a Lunch & Learn session in collaboration with Sustaina Company. The event brought together businesses eager to prepare for the upcoming EU regulations on sustainable practices. It was an insightful afternoon filled with discussions, practical advice, and opportunities to explore the challenges and opportunities of the evolving regulatory landscape.
What we covered
The session focused on four key EU regulations that will significantly influence sustainability practices:
- Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD): A directive mandating ESG reporting, with compliance deadlines approaching for large companies and listed SMEs.
- Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD): Legislation requiring companies to conduct due diligence on their environmental and social impacts.
- Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) and Digital Product Passport (DPP): Initiatives designed to promote circular product design and enhance transparency through digital product data.
- General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR): A regulation aimed at strengthening product safety assessments and recall procedures.
The afternoon was structured to provide both learning opportunities and practical activities:
- EU policy overview: Experts provided a detailed explanation of the major regulations, including who they apply to, what they entail, and when they come into force.
- Gap analysis workshop: Participants undertook a self-assessment to identify areas where their businesses may need to improve to meet the new compliance requirements.
- Roadmap to compliance: The session concluded with a roadmap discussion, offering actionable steps to prepare for these significant changes.
